Running

Why run?  Why not?  Put on your trainers, open the door and off you go!

But sometimes it’s not that easy, so that’s why Peel Road Runners offer a free “couch to 5k” course to help get you started and, once you’ve got the bug, a 5k to 10k progression course to give you the confidence to go further.

As a Club, we meet up on Tuesday and Thursday nights at the Snowdome, Tamworth at 7.00 pm.  Tuesday nights are social runs of around 6 miles – in the summer we run along the canal paths and trails around Tamworth; in the winter, we run on the paths and cyclepaths around town.

On Thursday night, Peelers have a choice of a social run or a more structured training session (hill reps, pacing, speed work etc).  We run whatever the weather – sun, rain, wind or snow – and are very supportive of all runners.  Although we ask that you can run around 5 miles in an hour before coming on a Club run, we always run as one group and no runner is ever left behind.

If you would like to come and run with us a few times to see if we’re the Club for you (free, no obligation to join), please come along to the Snowdome on any Tuesday or Thursday night.  However, if you would like any further information, please use the contact form on this website.

Peelers also meet up at weekends for training runs of varying distances, to share lifts to races and to take part in local parkruns.
