On Saturday morning there was a good turnout at Kingsbury Water park run where Mark Boffey was fastest in 23.38 followed by Phil Neale in 24.03, Rob Hirst in 24.25, Tim Mudd in 24.53, Mike Shelton in 24.58, Dave Fern in 25.08, Stuart Hatton in 25.59, Ian Grigg in 30.32, Caroline Evans in 30.36 and Lisa Fletcher in 36.22.
The main event of the weekend was the Burton 10k, with its hilly start, which is part of the Burton District Summer League that the club participate in.
For the men Ashlwey Baldwin was first home for the club in 5th place overall in an impressive 36.06, followed by Trevor Thompson in 44.50, George Hope in 48.41, Mark Boffey in 49.30 and Rob Hirst in 49 54.
For the ladies Emma Pick was second lady in 40.16 followed by Sandra Ingram in 53.01, Caroline Bourne in 53.10, Sophie Galloway in 55.11, Val Lawson in 58.16 and Jackie Tierney in 59.30.
Elsewhere Ian Grigg completed the Draycote Water 10k in a time of 1:04.41, his first race in a year due to injury, and Martin Hollamby completed the strangely named Half Tour of Bradwell in 17th place in 2:21.22. This was a fell run in the peak district and strangely named as it was actually 16 miles long!
