Weekly Round Up – 4th November 2019

A few hardy Peelers made it to Kingsbury Water parkrun on Saturday morning in spite of the pouring rain and muddy conditions.

First home for the club was Mark Webster in 8th place overall in 20.52 mins. Next was Darren O’Leary in a time of 24.03 mins, he was followed by Garth Cox (25.57), Jackie Tierney (29.25), Claire Guffick (32.26), Lee Guffick (33.42), Sarah French and Ann Hill (both 34.22) and Christine Norris (40.52). Thanks go to Mike Shelton and Sandra Ingram for volunteering to help make the event possible.

Further afield Andrew Pickard completed the Sheffield Concord event in 24.31 mins, Chris Bennett finished the Sutton Park parkrun in 25.11 mins and Michael Stevenson took on the Warwick Racecourse parkrun finishing in 29.16 mins.

The sole Peeler racing this weekend was Zoe Schnepp who finished as 8th lady at the Wyre Wizard trail half marathon in a time of 2:07.01 hrs. Helen and Neal Dempsey both participated in the Poppy Run event in Sutton Park, which was a fun event in the aid of the Royal British Legion.

On Sunday mornings Dave Fern often organises an unofficial 10 mile club run and usually gets a few like minded members for company. However this week he was joined by a record turnout of 12 keen Peelers, possibly aided by good weather and the end of the race season. As always his efforts are much appreciated by the club.

Peel Road runners meet every Tuesday and Thursday at 7pm at the Snowdome. New members are always welcome.
