Peel Road Runners braved the early snow showers on Saturday morning and turned out for their weekly Parkrun event to either participate or to volunteer as Marshalls.
At the Kingsbury Water Parkrun it was Shaun Coyle who was the sole representative for the Peel Road Runner men and, despite the conditions, Shaun had a fantastic race and managed to equal his PB time of 21:12 mins, finishing in 18th place overall and second in his age category.
For the Peel Road Runner women, Stella Martin went one better and finished 1st in her age category and crossed the finish line in a time of 26:41mins.
Alison Dolphin also ran out at Kingsbury and matched Shaun’s 2nd place in her age category with a time of 33:00mins for her 5k.
Over at Brueton Park, Solihull it was Michael Stevenson running for Peel and Michael finished just outside his PB with a finish time of 28:18mins.
Getting into the Christmas spirit a little early were Peelers Garth Cox & Sophie Galloway who were both running at Chasewater in their Pudding Dash 10k event. Garth finished with a time of 50:20mins and 8th in his age category whilst Sophie managed a new PB with her time of 54:11mins and also 8th in her age category.
Peel Road Runners meet every Tuesday and Thursday at 7pm at the Snowdome in Tamworth.
New members are always welcome.
