There was a good club turnout at Kingsbury Water Park on Saturday morning for parkrun. Strong performances were much in evidence with the club securing first, third and sixth places overall.
Congratulations go to Ash Baldwin who is an occasional visitor to parkrun, having completed only six previously, but stormed to first place in a new personal best time of 17.14 mins, 80 seconds ahead of the rest of the field. Previous winner Rob Mace was third in a time of 18.59 mins followed closely by Mark Webster who secured sixth place in a time of 19.22 mins.
Darren O’Leary was next home in a time of 22.48 mins, followed by Roger Lloyd (24.06), Stuart Hatton (25.02), Tim Mudd (25.23), Jason Church (27.19), Claire Guffick (31.33), Alison Upton (31.55), Lee Guffick (32.25, a new personal best), Stella Martin (32.53), Chris Taylor (33.00), Wendy Bowyer (35.12), Alison Dolphin (37.11) and Christine Norris (39.24).
Further afield Andrew Pickard completed the Sheffield Concord event in 23.50 mins, Mike Shelton finished the Sutton Park parkrun in 23.05 mins, Jackie Tierney completed the Shipley Country event in 30.23 mins and
Michael Stevenson was at the Hove parkrun finishing in 29.06 mins.
Helen and Neal Dempsey competed in two Canicross events at the weekend, completing the Newborough 5k Canicross event and also the Trail Betws 10k event in North Wales, which they both completed in 1:26 hrs.
Each year the club is granted a place for the London Marathon. Congratulations go to Sophie Galloway who was the lucky name out of the hat, the hard work for April starts now.
Peel Road runners meet every Tuesday and Thursday at 7pm at the Snowdome. New members are always welcome.
